Unable to buy crypto and add cash

If your account isn't recognized as a trusted payment source, you may not be able to buy crypto and add cash on your account. Coinbase uses an automated system to help us protect the community and our site from fraud.

Check your account for:

Possible reasons you aren't able to buy or add cash:

  • If we've received a chargeback when attempting to process one of your transactions, it may be preventing us from completing further orders.

  • In other cases, we may just need some additional information to confirm your ownership of the payment methods added to your account. If you have not done so already, please make sure there is an ID document uploaded for each person who has information verified on your Coinbase account. This will help expedite our review process.

It's also possible that your account has been temporarily disabled or that buy/sell services have been disabled.

If you've exhausted all options and still aren't able to buy or add cash, please contact Coinbase Support.

Make sure to include information about any chargebacks or reversals that have occurred on a recent trade when contacting us.
