Coinbase Cloud Help Center

Participate vs. Node

Both Participate customers and Node Enterprise plan subscribers work with our Engagement Managers to create and manage their Coinbase Cloud projects. If you’re interested in using these services and/or working with an Engagement Manager, please contact us using our Cloud interest form. If you’re an existing customer, reach out to your dedicated Engagement Manager.

Coinbase Cloud enables scaled decentralization by making it easy for blockchain participants who subscribe to eligible plans to run nodes across multiple cloud providers and regions on all our supported protocols. Our geographically distributed Participate staking clusters and Node projects use enterprise-grade security to scale responsibly.

Participate

Participate is Coinbase Cloud’s dedicated staking infrastructure. Participate enables you to run a dedicated validator node as part of a cluster. The node performs work on the blockchain, facilitating block production and validation, to earn participatory rewards from the protocol. The nodes participate in the critical operations of a blockchain protocol, including the governance and consensus processes. With Participate, you are helping secure the network and earning rewards for doing so.

Node

Coinbase Node simplifies data access and lets developers instantly activate read/write access to desired blockchain networks. Developers can create an API access token or, in some cases, a public access client, that they use in a project.

A Coinbase Node project is a resource that a developer or their organization uses within Node to interact with the blockchain.

Coinbase Node currently offers two subscription plans: Free and Enterprise.
