Accredited investors in Singapore

Accredited investors are assumed to be better informed, and better able to access resources to protect their own interests, and therefore require less regulatory protection. Customers who agree to be treated as accredited investors are reminded to exercise utmost caution when dealing in digital payment tokens.

Accredited investors are treated differently from retail clients. They are given access to certain products and services that are not made available to retail clients. At the same time, accredited investors are assumed to be sophisticated persons that have adequate resources to better protect their own interests (e.g. through accessing professional advice). Therefore, they are generally afforded less regulatory protection and safeguards as compared to retail clients.
