Coinbase requires you to confirm all devices and IP addresses before accessing your account.
Device confirmation is different from 2-step verification; it authorizes your devices and IPs, while 2-step verification adds an extra security layer during sign-in.
Confirm a new device or IP address
Make sure you start and finish the confirmation on the same device and at the same location
Sign in to your Coinbase.com account.
You’ll see a notice that your device isn’t recognized and an email has been sent.
Open the most recent New Device Confirmation email on the device you want to confirm (older emails won’t work).
Select the button in the email to complete the confirmation.
When to re-confirm
You may need to re-confirm if you:
Clear your browser’s cache or cookies.
Use a different browser or private/incognito mode.
Use a VPN or the TOR network.
Troubleshooting
Didn’t receive an email
Check your spam, trash, and Gmail’s Social and Promotional tabs.
Add no-reply@coinbase.com to your contacts.
Email invalid, expired, or button not working
Request a new email and check the Coinbase Status page.
If the button doesn’t work:
Apple devices: Visit the Apple Help Center for steps to turn off Private Relay.
Other devices: Check the status page or contact the Coinbase Support team if issues persist.
