How do I change my email address?

If you’re a customer across multiple Coinbase products—Coinbase.com, Prime, Pro, Custody, and Commerce—you can change your primary email address from your Coinbase Account Security page. If you can’t sign into your account to do this, see our article Can’t sign in to your account.

Updating your Coinbase email address

Important

When confirming your updated email address, you must use the same device for your email, as you are for updating your Coinbase email address. If you use different devices, the update will not work.

You will need to re-send the verification email and access it from the same device.

Web

  1. Go to your Account Security page

  2. Under Email you will see your email address, and to the right, the option to update, select Update

  3. From here you will be prompted to complete 2-step verification

  4. Once your 2-step verification is complete, enter your updated email address and select continue

A verification email will be sent to the new email address to be confirmed, with a prompt to "Click this button to confirm device". Once you select this, your email will be updated.

Mobile

Updating your email is not possible in the Coinbase app, and will need to be done on a mobile web browser.

  1. Go to your Account Security page

    1. Sign into your Coinbase account via your mobile web browser

    2. Select your user icon in the top right and select Manage account

    3. From here, select the hamburger in the top left, and navigate to Security

  2. Under Email, you’ll see your current email address, and the option to update it, select Update

  3. You will be prompted to complete 2-step verification before proceeding to your email change

  4. Once you complete 2-step verification, enter your updated email address in the blank text box, and select Continue

A verification email will be sent to the new email address to be confirmed, with a prompt to "Click this button to confirm device". Once you select this, your email will be updated.
