Coinbase Advanced fees

Fees vary by order type. Orders that provide liquidity (maker orders) and orders that take liquidity (taker orders) have different fees. Your fee tier at the time of the order determines the fees, not the tier after the order.

Check your fee tier at any time. Tiers update hourly based on trading volume.

Maker and taker orders

  • Taker orders: Orders filled immediately at market price (ex: market order, immediately fulfilled limit order) pay the taker fee.

  • Maker orders: Orders not immediately matched (ex: buy limit order below market price) are placed on the order book and pay the maker fee when matched.

  • Partially matched orders: The immediate portion pays the taker fee. The remaining portion on the order book pays the maker fee when matched.

To see the complete fee structure, sign in to your Coinbase.com account and see the Coinbase Advanced fees page.

Fee calculation

Fees are based on total USD trading volume over the past 30 days across all order books. Non-USD transactions are converted to USD using the most recent fill price.
