Funding your account - EMEA

You can quickly add cash to your Coinbase account with a verified payment method. Note that Coinbase does not accept physical checks.

Add cash to your account

  1. Select Deposit cash.

    • On mobile app: Select Transfer, then Deposit cash.

    • on desktop: From the home screen, select Deposit cash.

  2. Enter the amount and choose a payment method.

  3. Select Preview.

  4. Select Deposit now.

Wire transfers and other deposits

A successful deposit will verify your bank account. For transfer details, including your unique reference code, follow the steps in the section Add and verify your payment method.

Important

  • Your Coinbase account must be fully verified. 

  • The name on the bank account must match the name on the Coinbase account. 

  • Deposits cannot be sent from a business account.

  • Deposits cannot be sent from pooled accounts, such as a WISE payment.

  • Deposits cannot be made from shared bank accounts. 

  • A bank account can only be linked to one Coinbase account. 

  • According to our Terms and Conditions, you can only have one personal account per customer. Any additional accounts must be deleted.

  • Deposits can be accepted from joint accounts, but require additional approval. The name of the customer must be visible on the deposit information.

  • Please do not enter anything in the reference field other than the Coinbase reference code, as this may delay transactions.

Bank transfers made through Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) are used for transfers denominated in Euros (EUR), and have no fees. Deposits in currencies other than Euros are not accepted and will be automatically returned within 10 business days. 

How to add cash using a SEPA bank account:

  1. Sign in to your Coinbase account.

  2. Select the My Assets tab and choose Deposit.

  3. Select Euro bank account and review the banking information.

  4. From your bank or banking app, initiate the deposit using the banking information displayed in the Coinbase app.

How to cash out using a SEPA bank account:

  1. Sign in to your Coinbase account.

  2. Select the My Assets tab and choose Withdraw.

  3. Enter the amount to withdraw and select your SEPA bank account as your payment method.

  4. Preview the transaction and confirm by clicking Withdraw cash now. 

SEPA deposits and withdrawals can take 1-3 business days.

When depositing funds through Faster Payments, Coinbase automatically confirms if the name on your Coinbase account matches with your sending bank. You can only fund your account by linking bank accounts held solely in your name.

Understanding name match results

  • Match: The details you've entered match the bank account on file. 

  • Partial Match: You've entered a name similar to an account verified with the bank.

    • What to do: Review your spelling and update the details as necessary.

  • No Match: The provided details do not match any account verified with the bank.

    • What to do: Review your spelling and update the details as necessary.

If you want to opt out of this feature, please contact our Support team.

  • SWIFT (USD) deposit instructions, including bank account number, are unique to your Coinbase account. A transaction reference isn't necessary.

  • You can make up to 3 deposits per day, with no limit on the USD amount.

  • Banks currently NOT supported:
