If you send unsupported crypto to your Coinbase account, you won't receive the deposit and the funds will be lost. The funds can only be recovered in these cases:
You can recover certain assets to a self-custodial wallet using our asset recovery service.
If Coinbase later adds support for an Ethereum-compatible (ERC-20) asset, the funds will be automatically deposited into your account.
Why crypto deposits can be lost
Coinbase can’t reject deposits of unsupported crypto.
Other exchanges or wallets can’t verify if Coinbase supports a specific crypto.
Blockchains don’t require recipients to accept deposits.
