Edit Consensus security settings on Coinbase Prime

Who can use this feature?

You must have one of the following roles to edit consensus settings on Coinbase Prime: Administrator, Initiator, Authorized Signatory, or and Full Trader.

You can edit the General and Governance Voting consensus settings on your Coinbase Prime account. Note: There may be transfer policy settings that override the general approval settings.

  1. Sign in to Coinbase Prime.

  2. On the left-hand side of the page, click the Gear settings icon.

  3. Click Security.

  4. Next to General Approval Consensus, under Action, click Edit.

  5. Enter the number of approvals required to verify transactions and account changes.

  6. Click Confirm Changes.

    • This action requires consensus approvals before it is processed. 

  7. Verify your identity with your YubiKey.

  1. Sign in to Coinbase Prime.

  2. On the lower left-hand side of the page, click the Gear settings icon.

  3. Click Security.

  4. Next to Apply General Approval to Governance Voting Consensus, under Action, click Edit.

  5. Click the toggle to enable consensus for Governance voting proposals.

  6. Click Continue.

    • This action requires consensus approvals before it’s processed. 

  7. Verify your identity with your YubiKey.
