Why can't I access my account on my device?

A few reasons that you may be having issues accessing your account via your device are:

  • You have not successfully completed device confirmation

  • Your device is not up to date & cannot support an updated version of Coinbase

Below are some troubleshooting steps to try if you're having issues with your device.

Troubleshooting by device type

Before you begin

Back up your 12-word recovery phrase (seed phrase) from your self-custodial wallets

Try the following steps:

  1. Turn your mobile device off and then back on.

  2. Switch from a WiFi network to phone data or vice versa.

    • This can be done through your phone settings

  3. Update your device operating system.

    • This can be done through your phone setting

  4. Update your Coinbase mobile app to the current version.

    • This can be done through your respective app store

  5. Clear your mobile app cache.

    • This can be done by accessing your phone settings > Coinbase app > clear cache on next launch

    • If the option isn't available, uninstall and reinstall the Coinbase mobile app

  6. Uninstall and reinstall the Coinbase mobile app.

    • This can done through your respective app store

  7. Try accessing Coinbase.com through a mobile web browser.

    • This can be done by downloading a web browser app to your phone from your respective app store

Try the following steps:

  1. Turn your device off and then back on again.

  2. Update your device operating system.

    • This can be done through your device settings    

  3. Clear your web browser cache and cookies.

  4. Update your web browser.

  5. Disable your web browser extensions.

  6. Switch your browser to private mode (Incognito mode).

  7. Try a different browser.
