Change your address

It is important to notify us if your address, state, or country information changes. You can change the details on your profile at any time.

Before you move on

  • Changing your address can only be done on Coinbase.com (web browser), not the mobile app.

  • Changing your state or country requires identity verification to complete.

    • Country changes require you to cash out your balance before starting identity verification.

  • Changing your state or country may affect the services we can offer you based on regulatory requirements.

    • If your account is restricted after changing your state or country, please contact contact us.

Change your address

  1. Sign in to your Coinbase.com account via browser.

  2. Select your profile icon and choose Settings.

  3. Select Go to Accounts.

  4. Under Personal info, select Address and enter your changes.

  5. Select Save.

    • If you change your state of residence, you may need to follow on-screen instructions to complete identity verification. Once your identity is verified, the change you made will show on your account.

Change your country

You may need to change your country separate from your address.

  1. Sign in to your Coinbase.com account via browser.

  2. Select your profile icon and choose Manage account.

  3. Under Personal info select Change in the country field.

  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to provide further details which includes, but may not be limited to, identity verification.

    • Once your identity is verified, the change you made will show on your profile.

Troubleshooting a country change

If Coinbase’s automated system did not complete your country change, please contact us.

Please have your updated identification card prepared to send to support to verify your updated residence, as well as a bank statement or a water, electricity, internet, or phone bill that verifies your new residential address. A Coinbase support agent will provide you with a secure link to upload these documents. Please do NOT send these documents via another method.

This document must:

  • Have been issued within the last 90 days

  • Show your full name and new address, which must match those on your ID

  • Be in Latin characters

  • Be the full document (partial documents will not be accepted)
