Send and receive on Base

You can instantly move crypto between wallets or friends, with no extra steps or delays, on Base.

After making a transaction, review your Base app activity history on the Wallet tab.

Send to or request from another user

To send or request funds on Base:

  1. Select the Trade tab and choose Send or Request.

  2. Select an asset to send or receive and enter an amount.

  3. Search for and select a user to send to.

  4. Review the transaction and associated fees, if any.

  5. Swipe to confirm.

You can also start the send process by selecting Send on the Wallet tab, or trade icon on another user’s profile.

To respond to a request:

  1. Select the Wallet tab and choose Activity.

  2. Find the request notification and select pay or decline.

Send or request via link

You can create a payment link to send or request funds from another Base app user.

When you create a claim link to send funds, the funds immediately leave your wallet. If unclaimed, the funds return after five days. You can also cancel an unclaimed link to reclaim the funds immediately.

To send or request funds via link:

  1. Select the Trade tab and choose Send.

  2. Select an asset and enter an amount.

  3. Select Create a link.

  4. Review the transaction and associated fees, if any.

  5. Swipe to confirm.

  6. Share the link. You can copy the link, select Share, or select the QR code icon.

To cancel a claim link:

  1. Select the Wallet tab and choose Activity.

  2. Find the transaction and select it.

  3. Select See link and choose Confirm.

  4. Select Reclaim funds.

The link will no longer allow the recipient to claim the funds. Fees, if any, will not apply, as the transfer never went through.

Send or receive via QR code

Send and receive by scanning a QR code – no need to copy long wallet addresses.

To send or receive via QR code:

  1. Select the QR code icon on the Home, Social, Trade, or Wallet tab.

  2. Select Receive to receive funds or Scan to send.

  3. Scan the recipient’s QR code using the sender’s device.

  4. On the sender’s device, select an asset and enter an amount.

  5. Review the transaction and associated fees, if any.

  6. Swipe to confirm.

You can also copy your wallet address or share a link to your profile by selecting the QR code icon.

Send or request via tap to pay

Android users can send and request funds using tap to pay. You may need to enable tap to pay via your device’s settings.

To send or request funds via tap to pay:

  1. Select the Trade tab and choose Send.

  2. Select an asset and enter an amount.

  3. Select Tap to pay.

  4. Review the transaction and associated fees, if any.

  5. Tap the sender’s device against the recipient’s Android device or POS terminal to complete the payment.

iPhones can send via tap to pay if an Android user starts a request. iPhones can’t receive funds, start the transaction, or send to another iPhone via tap to pay.

Disable payment requests

To prevent users from sending you payment requests:

  1. Select your profile picture to open the sidebar menu.

  2. Select Settings and choose Privacy & security.

  3. Turn off the toggle next to Payment requests.
