The referral program lets you and your friends (“invitee”) earn benefits when your friends sign up and make a crypto purchase using your personal signup link.
How to earn through referrals:
Visit the referrals page on Coinbase.com or go to the “Invite Friends” tab in the Coinbase mobile app to get your referral link.
Copy and share your referral link in an email, text message, or via your favorite messaging app.
Your referred user can open the referral link in the message and sign up for a new Coinbase account.
Once your referred user completes the minimum qualifying purchase using a payment method of either bank transfer, debit card, or credit card only, a cryptocurrency or local currency bonus will be added to your Coinbase account. The amount of the bonus varies based on country. A maximum amount of bonuses awarded for referred users may apply.
The referred user’s qualifying purchase must be completed within ninety (90) days of when they become trade eligible (i.e. they have verified their identity).
Terms and Conditions
The invitee must sign up using your unique referral code or referral link. This means they need to create a new Coinbase account directly from your link and have not previously created a Coinbase account.
When you invite someone to join Coinbase via a referral code or referral link, that referred user must create an account and use https://www.coinbase.com/trade to make a qualifying purchase of any cryptocurrency with either a bank transfer, debit card, or credit card in order for you to receive your referral benefit. If your invitee purchases cryptocurrency on Coinbase Advanced or Coinbase Prime, the purchases will not count toward referral eligibility.
If an invitee fails to complete a qualifying purchase within the applicable time period, you will not receive your referral bonus.
Promoting your referral code through the use of paid advertising based on 'Coinbase' or Coinbase-related keywords is prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to, bidding on or running ads on search based on keywords that include 'Coinbase' or variations thereon. Using 'Coinbase' branded terms in your ad copy is not appropriate. Referrers who engage in such activities will have their referral codes deactivated and all referrals resulting from such activities are ineligible for referral payments.
Invitees who join Coinbase through your referral code or referral link are not eligible for the Coinbase New User First Buy Spin The Wheel Incentive or Coinbase New User First Trade and Trade Eligible Promo Codes.

If communicating your referral code or referral link via text message, email, or any other communication channel, you can only contact those who have consented to receive such a message from you. Before sending such a message, you attest that the recipient of the message has granted you their consent to receive a Coinbase referral message. Coinbase is relying on this consent, which you have obtained, for the purpose of complying with all applicable laws and regulations in order for you to send message(s) to your consented contact(s). You further agree that you shall indemnify and hold Coinbase harmless against all actions, claims, costs, and/or losses arising from or in connection with sending the referral message to the recipient.
Residents of the State of Washington are not eligible to participate in the referral program via text message and should not receive or use referral links sent via text message.
Coinbase reserves the right to alter these terms or revoke the referral program partially or entirely, at any time and without notice, including revoking redemption or use of referral codes or referral links.
Coinbase also reserves the right to not apply a benefit, in its sole discretion, if Coinbase believes you have failed to comply with the terms and conditions as stated herein.
All new user accounts and reward payouts are subject to reviews, which include, but are not limited to, assessing fraud and risk factors. Offer void if Coinbase determines the user is not eligible based on these reviews.
Void where prohibited. Referees and invitees may not be eligible to receive a bonus based on their country of residence. Do not send a referral code or referral link to any resident in the United Kingdom or Turkey.
The Coinbase referral program incentive is subject to and governed by the Coinbase User Agreement and the Additional Terms included on this page (the "Terms").
