The social feed lets you create content, explore what’s trending, follow creators, and engage with posts, all from within the Base app.

Farcaster protocol + ID

  • The social feed in the Base App is powered by the decentralized Farcaster protocol and shared across the Farcaster ecosystem.

  • A Farcaster social account is required to post and engage with content. During the Base app onboarding process, you’ll have the option to create an account or connect an existing Farcaster account.

    • If you onboarded before the social feed feature went live in the Base App, you’ll see a banner that says “activate your social account.”

  • To connect a different Farcaster account, turn off Base mode and log out of your wallet. Next, log back in, turn on Base mode, and connect the desired Farcaster account.

Content moderation

  • Posts that violate our guidelines may be removed.

  • To report a post, tap the three dots, select Report post, choose the reason, and briefly explain why.

  • Our moderation team reviews all reports and takes action as needed.

Feed ranking

  • Feeds are personalized based on your engagement (likes, comments, follows) and interest quiz inputs, prioritizing freshness, relevancy, and content diversity.

  • By default, we don’t boost crypto content over other categories. Visibility is based on overall engagement.

Languages

  • The social feed currently supports English-only content.

  • Translation tools and multilingual support are expected in future updates.

Troubleshooting

If you’re having trouble with the social feed, try the following:

  • Make sure you’re using the latest version of the app.

  • Check that you have a stable Internet or data connection.

  • Restart the app to clear temporary issues.

  • Use pull-to-refresh to update the feed or comments.

  • Ensure your wallet has sufficient funds for purchases.
