Coinbase gift cards are no longer available for purchase, however Coinbase will honor any existing gift card balances. Please see below for helpful information

Do I need a credit card to use my gift card?

No, you don’t need an additional payment method linked on your account to use the value of your gift card.  

What countries are gift cards available in?

Gift cards are only available in the U.S. at this time.

Do you allow cross border redemption/use?

No, gift cards are only available to redeem through U.S. Coinbase accounts at this time.

Do I need an account to redeem my gift card?

Yes, an active Coinbase account is required.

Can I do a partial redemption?

No. Gift cards must be redeemed for the full face value.

Can I use the gift card as a payment method or do I have to redeem first?

Gift cards can be used directly as payment methods, but if the gift card value cannot cover the full purchase amount, customers may be required to add another payment method.

Gift cards can be used to add funds to your Coinbase account. Once a gift card has been redeemed, the value will be added to your account’s USD balance.

Redeem a gift card

  1. Sign in to your account (or create a new account) and go to your payment methods.

    • On web: From your profile icon, select Settings > Payment methods 

    • On mobile: From the home screen, either:

      • Select the menu icon, then Profile & Settings.

      • Select More, then Add Cash, then tap the default drop-down payment method. 

  2. Select Add a new payment method. 

    • Note: If you see a pop-up or ad for another payment service, simply close it to proceed.

  3. Select Gift card. 

  4. Add the gift card number and PIN.

This Card is only valid for use in the US. The number of Cards purchased may be limited and no individual may purchase more than $10,000 in Cards on a single day. Redeemable up to balance only via the Coinbase® app or online at Coinbase.com. Yearly redemption limits of $2,000 apply. Any purchase or redemption limits set forth herein are subject to change by Coinbase without notice. Daily and yearly redemption limits may apply. Valid only for users 18+ years of age. Must be a resident of the U.S to purchase or redeem. Redemption requires a Coinbase account and compatible software, hardware, and Internet access. Not refundable or redeemable for cash except as required by law. Not a credit or debit card. Safeguard the Card; it will not be replaced or replenished if lost, stolen, or used without authorization. Risk of loss and title for Card passes to purchaser at time of payment for Card. This Card is single use. It cannot be reloaded, and it must be redeemed for the full face value. Coinbase, Inc. is the Card issuer and sole obligor to Card owner. It may delegate its issuer obligations to an assignee without recourse. If delegated, the assignee and not Coinbase, Inc. will be the sole obligor to Card owner. Coinbase and its licensees, affiliates, and licensors make no warranties, express or implied, with respect to Card and disclaim any warranty to the fullest extent available. No fees or expiration date. Void where prohibited. Not for resale and void if copied, resold, or otherwise obtained or used in violation of these Terms.
