Coinbase Business rejected documents

Documents may be rejected if the information does not match what was entered in your application. This is one of the most common reasons for delays and can be resolved by ensuring your details are consistent across all documents.

What needs to match

  • Legal entity name: Spelling, punctuation, and entity type (e.g., “LLC” vs. “L.L.C.”)

  • Business address: Consistent format across your application, bank statement, and formation documents

Common causes

  • Bank statement uses a DBA or trade name, while the application uses the legal entity name (or vice versa).

  • Formation documents reflect a previous business name after a legal name change.

  • Bank statement is in a personal name instead of the business entity name.

  • Documents are blurry or low resolution.

How to resolve

  • Compare your application details with each uploaded document and correct any differences.

  • If your business name has changed, provide documentation showing both the previous and current name (e.g., amendment or certificate).

  • Re-upload clear, corrected documents and respond to the onboarding email.

Sole proprietors and single-member LLCs

If your business bank account is in your personal name, you can upload a personal bank statement. Ensure this is noted in your application.
