Available to cash out
The amount of your total USD balance that is currently able to be withdrawn.
Available to trade futures
The total cash available to support futures trading, calculated as (CBI spot USD + CFM futures USD + Futures PnL - any holds for open spot or futures orders - initial margin requirement). Spot accounts are maintained by Coinbase Inc., which is not CFTC registered and is not a member of the National Futures Association. Funds held with Coinbase Inc. do not benefit from the CFTC’s customer protection regime
The fraction of the underlying asset that this contract represents.
Available for margin
Funds available to meet your anticipated margin requirement. This includes your CBI spot USD, CFM futures USD, and Futures PnL, less any holds for open spot or futures orders.
The funds held in your CFTC-regulated futures account that exceed the amount required to maintain current futures positions. Excess held in your futures account cannot be used to trade spot. These funds are available the next business day to be swept back to your Coinbase Inc. spot account.
Funds held for open orders
Funds being held for orders to buy or sell spot assets or futures contracts that have not yet been executed, canceled, or expired. Your available to trade futures balance is reduced by the amount of funds being held to support open futures orders
Initial margin / Margin required
Margin required to initiate futures positions. Once futures orders are placed, these funds cannot be used to trade spot. The actual amount of funds necessary to support executed futures orders will be moved to your futures account.
Indicates the ability to open an order with an investment of only a portion of the notional value. By putting down a small amount, you magnify the effect of any price change. It is calculated as the notional value / required margin.
Funds available in excess of the liquidation threshold, calculated as: (available for margin - liquidation threshold) / (initial margin - liquidation threshold). If your liquidation buffer reaches 0%, your futures positions will be liquidated as necessary.
The point at which your liquidation buffer drops below 0%. When your available funds for collateral drop to the liquidation threshold, some or all of your futures positions will be liquidated.
The value of this order before fees and leverage, calculated as the price of the contract, times the amount, times the contract multiplier (contract price x amount x contract multiplier).
Funds that are in the process of being transferred between CBI spot and CFM futures balances and that are being held for spot or futures trades.
Pending transfers to CFM futures account
Amount of USD required to support futures trading activity based on your executed futures orders. At the end of the business day, the actual amount of funds necessary to support executed futures orders will be moved to your futures account.
Total unrealized PnL
The net value of unrealized profits or losses on open futures positions, measured using the difference between the fill price of all open contracts against the last traded price of all open contracts.
Total USD balance
The value of all cash in or out of your spot and futures balances plus realized PnL, minus fees and commissions.
