No, you do not use your own cryptocurrency to send a test transaction on Coinbase Prime. When you send a test transaction, Coinbase sends a small amount of cryptocurrency on your behalf to the destination address you specify.

What fees do I pay for a test transaction on Coinbase Prime?

There are no fees associated with test transactions on Coinbase Prime and we offer them to you as a complementary feature.

How do I send a test transaction on Coinbase Prime?

To send a test transaction on Coinbase Prime, set up a cryptocurrency withdrawal as you normally would, but instead of proceeding with the withdrawal, click the link labeled, “Send Test Transaction.”

There are no approvals required for a test transaction. Your test transaction does not require consensus before it is transmitted.

You’ll see a confirmation that Coinbase has sent your test transaction.

Once your test transaction is confirmed, you’ll receive a confirmation notice on the Coinbase Prime platform.

Which of my Coinbase Prime crypto wallets can I use to send a test transaction?

You can send a test transaction from your Coinbase Prime vault wallet or trading wallet. 

Are there any limits to the number of test transactions I can send on Coinbase Prime?

You can send up to 25 test transactions per day from your Coinbase Prime account across all eligible crypto assets. 

For each crypto asset, you can send one test transaction per asset per unique destination address in any 48 hour window. For example, if you sent a test transaction of ETH to a certain destination address, you would not be able to send another test transaction of ETH to that destination address until 48 hours after the prior test transaction. 

Which assets support test transactions on Coinbase Prime?

The list may change periodically, however you can check each asset you desire to send a test transaction for during the withdrawal process.

How do test transactions on Coinbase Prime work with Address Book Protection?

If you have Address Book Protection enabled for your Coinbase Prime profile, you will not be able to send a test transaction to any address that is not saved in your Address Book.
