You can now refer and earn rewards when someone you refer sets up their self-custody account in Coinbase Wallet, or completes a task (Quest) in the Coinbase Wallet app.
How it works
Referrer to-dos (person who sends the invite link):
Ensure your Coinbase account is connected to your Coinbase Wallet.
Under Settings, get your Invite Link and share your link through text, email, or any other way.
Once the person who receives your invite link has completed the task successfully, your referral reward balance will increase and you can claim your rewards.
Referee to-dos (person who receives the invite link):
Use the Invite Link to download the Coinbase Wallet app, and set up your account. If you already have Coinbase Wallet, it should open the app.
Follow the prompts to perform the task.
You will earn the reward after completing the task.
Claiming rewards
You don't have to claim your rewards right away. Coinbase will keep track of how many referrals you have completed, and add the rewards to your balance. Once you are ready to claim your rewards, Coinbase will drop USDC to your account.
This is an on-chain transaction and will take a couple of minutes to complete, but Coinbase will cover the network transaction fee.
Troubleshooting
If you haven’t received your reward for a referral, please ensure the following:
The referee signed up using your Invite Link, and completed the task. They should earn the reward for having completed the task as well.
Make sure you both have linked your Coinbase Wallet to your own Coinbase.com accounts.
Wait for some time. It may take a while for our system to validate the referral.
