Introduction
In 2022, Coinbase launched Coinbase NFT to further our mission of increasing economic freedom in the world. By enabling more people to join the creator economy and profit from their work, NFTs have an important role to play in this mission. Since then we have seen an evolution of the types of activities that users are engaging with onchain, including social, gaming, and much more.
As a result, we realized that our users should not have to wrestle with multiple applications but rather have one front door, where they can experience the best that onchain has to offer.
From July 10, 2024, we will start to officially sunset the standalone Coinbase NFT marketplace, and migrate much of the beloved functionality into Coinbase Wallet’s new website, a page for everything onchain.
Timeline
Coinbase NFT will begin a formal transition over the coming weeks, so please keep an eye out for these key dates:
July 10, 2024: All marketplace functionality will be halted except for listing cancellations. We advise you to cancel open listings to avoid losing access to them, as any open listings will forever live on the blockchain! Please visit Coinbase NFT to cancel open listings.
August 1, 2024: Coinbase NFT will be turned off. Any visit to Coinbase NFT will be redirected to Coinbase Wallet. We are excited for all that Coinbase Wallet has to offer, and you can find your favorite NFT collections and trending mints today!
