Coinbase Wallet

Base wallets explained

As of January 2023, Coinbase Wallet will no longer be supporting the following assets and networks due to low usage: BCH, ETC, XLM and XRP. For more information, visit Supported assets and networks.

A Coinbase wallet is a self-custody wallet that gives you complete control of your crypto. This means that the private keys (that represent ownership of the cryptocurrency) for your Wallet are stored directly on your mobile device and not with a centralized exchange like Coinbase.

Note that the Coinbase Wallet is not the same product as Coinbase, and you do not need a Coinbase account to use a Coinbase Wallet. If you’re looking to simply invest in crypto, Coinbase remains the easiest place to buy, sell, and manage your crypto.
