For troubleshooting steps related to payment method, choose the payment method you want to add below.
Before continuing:
Make sure you’ve completed identity verification.
Your country of residence should be up to date on your account.
Card addition
For verification, Coinbase sends two test charges of between 1.01 and 1.99 in your local currency. If you don’t see these test transactions, try again or:
Review pending or processing charges with your card issuer.
After 24 hours, ask your card issuer about any pending Coinbase authorisations or blocked charges.
Note:
1.00 charges are from the card processing network and are not used for verification.
We’ll cancel the verification charges and they’ll disappear after 10 business days.
3D Secure card addition
Your card must be 3D Secure enabled. If your card doesn't support 3D Secure, you’ll see an error message. Card processors may block Coinbase or crypto transactions, stopping card verification. This is determined by your card provider, not Coinbase. Please ask your card provider about their crypto policies. A card can only be linked to one Coinbase account at a time.
Coinbase doesn’t support transactions from prepaid, reloadable, secured or business cards.
Add a card to your payment methods:

Go to your profile.
Select Settings.
Select Payment methods.
Select Add a payment method and choose Credit/Debit card.
Review details and select Continue.
Enter requested information.
Select Add Card to confirm.
Mobile app
Access the Coinbase mobile app.
Select the menu icon.
Select Profile & Settings.
Select Add a payment method and choose Credit/Debit card.
Review details and select Continue.
Enter requested information.
Select Add Card to confirm.
If your card is supported and 3D Secure enabled, it should be verified.
Remove a card from your payment methods:

Sign in to Coinbase.com.
Go to your profile.
Select Settings.
Select Payment methods.
Choose the card you wish to delete.
Select Remove.
Mobile app
Access the Coinbase mobile app.
Select the menu icon.
Select Profile & Settings.
Choose the card you wish to delete.
Select Remove.
Buy using a card:
Web
Sign in to Coinbase.com.
Select Buy.
Select Pay with and choose your card.
Enter the purchase amount and frequency.
Select an asset to buy.
Select Review Order.
Select Buy now to confirm the order.
Mobile app
Access the Coinbase mobile app.
Select Buy & sell.
Select Buy.
Select an asset to buy.
Enter the purchase amount and frequency.
Select Pay with and choose your card.
Select Review Order.
Select Buy now to confirm the order.
Withdraw funds using a card:
Web
Sign in to Coinbase.com.
Select the My assets tab.
Select Withdraw cash.
Choose your card and enter the amount you wish to withdraw.
Select Preview.
Select Withdraw Cash Now to confirm the transaction.
Card cashouts are typically processed instantly, but the transfer speed may vary depending on your bank or card provider.
SEPA transactions
A successful deposit will verify your bank account. For transfer details, including your unique reference code, follow the steps in the section Add and verify your payment method.
Important
Your Coinbase account must be fully verified.
The name on the bank account must match the name on the Coinbase account.
Deposits cannot be sent from a business account.
Deposits cannot be sent from pooled accounts, such as a WISE payment.
Deposits cannot be made from shared bank accounts.
A bank account can only be linked to one Coinbase account.
According to our Terms and Conditions, you can only have one personal account per customer. Any additional accounts must be deleted.
Deposits can be accepted from joint accounts but require additional approval. The name of the customer must be visible on the deposit information.
Please do not enter anything in the reference field other than the Coinbase reference code, as this may delay transactions.
Bank transfers made through Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) are used for transfers denominated in Euros (EUR) and have no fees. Deposits in currencies other than Euros are not accepted and will be automatically returned within 10 business days.
How to add cash using a SEPA bank account:
Sign in to your Coinbase account.
Select the My Assets tab and choose Deposit.
Select Euro bank account and review the banking information.
From your bank or banking app, initiate the deposit using the banking information displayed in the Coinbase app.
How to cash out using a SEPA bank account:
Sign in to your Coinbase account.
Select the My Assets tab and choose Withdraw.
Enter the amount to withdraw and select your SEPA bank account as your payment method.
Preview the transaction and confirm by clicking Withdraw cash now.
SEPA deposits and withdrawals can take 1–3 business days.
PayPal account addition

Apple Pay, Google Pay and Samsung Pay addition
Apple Pay, Google Pay or Samsung Pay appear as a payment method option when a verified Visa or Mastercard debit card is linked to your Wallet. If they don’t, make sure you're using a supported device or browser and your settings are correct.
A successful deposit will verify your bank account. For transfer details, complete the steps in the section Add and verify your payment method.
Instructions, including bank account number, are unique to your Coinbase account. There is no need for a transaction reference.
Customers in the Netherlands can use iDEAL to link their bank account to buy crypto or fund their Coinbase account. Verification requires bank sign-in.
Blik allows customers in Poland to link their bank account to buy crypto. Customers will be prompted to sign into their bank to complete verification.
Customers in Denmark, Sweden and Germany can link their bank accounts via Trustly to buy crypto or fund their Coinbase account, based on their residence. Verification requires bank sign-in.
