Add and verify a payment method - EMEA

For your security, the name on your payment method must match the name on your Coinbase account. Mismatched names will be reviewed manually in one to three business days.

Verify your Coinbase account before adding a payment method.

When withdrawing funds from your Coinbase account:

  • Your bank may not support the currency being withdrawn. Your bank may reject the payment or convert it to a supported currency at their exchange rate.

  • If your bank rejects the payment and returns the funds, Coinbase will credit the refunded amount back to your Coinbase account. The refunded amount may be lower due to wire fees charged by your bank.

To minimize potential fees, exchange rate losses, or rejected payments, check your bank's currency support policies. Coinbase is not responsible for third-party exchange rates or fees. Contact your bank for more details.

Payment method

Verification

3D Secure card

Before adding a card, note that Coinbase doesn’t support transactions from prepaid, reloadable, secured, or business cards.

If the card information you provided is supported and has 3D Secure enabled, it will be verified.

Note: Credit cards cannot be used as a payment method for Coinbase accounts registered in the United Arab Emirates. For more details, see Credit cards for Coinbase Singapore customers.

Google Pay and Apple Pay

Google Pay and Apple Pay only appear as payment methods when a Visa or Mastercard debit card is linked to your account.

If these options aren’t displayed, make sure your settings are correct and you’re using a supported device.

PayPal

For PayPal support, refer to our PayPal FAQ.

SEPA

A successful deposit will verify your bank account.

SWIFT account

A successful deposit will verify your bank account. Instructions, including bank account number, are unique to your Coinbase account. There is no need for a transaction reference.

iDeal account

In the Netherlands, you can use iDEAL to link your bank account to buy crypto or fund your Coinbase account. Verification requires bank sign-in.

BLIK

In Poland, you can use BLIK to buy crypto using your bank account. During the buy transaction, open your banking app to generate a six-digit BLIK code, then enter the code in the Coinbase app to authorize and complete the transaction.
