Below you'll find information about Coinbase's new user incentive offerings. Please read the guidelines carefully as offerings will vary.

Spinning the wheel of Bitcoin rewards may not be available to you

Eligible US residents (excluding Hawaii) will be presented with an opportunity to spin the wheel of Bitcoin (BTC) rewards once they successfully create an account and buy their first cryptocurrency.

To spin the wheel:

  1. Create a Coinbase account.

  2. Complete your first purchase of cryptocurrency.

  3. Spin the wheel of Bitcoin rewards.

 You’ll receive your Bitcoin reward in your portfolio shortly.

Additional terms

  • Valid for new Coinbase users who make a cryptocurrency purchase on Coinbase

  • All new users who spin the wheel will randomly receive reward between $3 - $200 BTC

    • 89% percent of new users who spin the wheel will receive a reward between $3 - $5 BTC 

    • 11% percent of new users who spin the wheel will receive a reward between $6 - $200 BTC 

  • Limited while supplies last or Coinbase revokes this incentive at its sole discretion

  • Coinbase reserves the right to change the terms, eligibility criteria, and payouts for all incentives at any time, for any reason

  • Void where prohibited or if Coinbase determines that the customer is not eligible for the offer

  • All new user accounts are subject to internal policy reviews

  • Value of reward determined by Coinbase at the time of deposit may differ from the reward displayed after spinning the wheel

  • Your reward may increase or decrease in value after it's deposited into your account as a result of market developments, legal and regulatory developments, or other factors affecting the cryptocurrency industry

The Coinbase New User First Buy Spin The Wheel Incentive is subject to and governed by the Coinbase User Agreement and the Additional Terms included on this page (the "Terms"). If there is any conflict or inconsistency between the Coinbase User Agreement and these Terms, these Terms control. Learn more about geographic eligibility.

Eligible US residents (excluding Hawaii) who successfully create an account and purchase crypto will receive $5 in Bitcoin (BTC) added to their Coinbase portfolio. 

How it works

1. Sign up at coinbase.com.

2. After you sign up, add a payment method to your account and buy any cryptocurrency on Coinbase.

3. Once you have completed the required steps of creating an account and purchasing cryptocurrency, you will receive $5 in BTC in your Coinbase portfolio.

How do I know this email or social media post about the Coinbase new user incentive is legitimate?

  • Coinbase will never ask you to send funds

  • Coinbase emails will always come from [email protected] or [email protected]

  • Check the URL to make sure it directs you to coinbase.com

If you encounter any scams or phishing, please report them to [email protected]

Additional terms

  • Valid for new Coinbase users who have not previously created an account

  • Not available to new users who were referred to Coinbase from the Coinbase Referral Program or to users who have preexisting Coinbase accounts using a different email address
