Coinbase is committed to providing customers in Canada with the best possible service. We are also committed to increasing the use of cryptocurrency (crypto) in Canada to further our mission of creating a more open financial system for the world. For these reasons, we have incorporated Coinbase Canada, Inc., which will act as a local service provider, and Canadian customers will be migrated to our Canadian entity for their Coinbase services.
Action needed
You will be automatically migrated to the new Canadian entity on 22 February 2023, and will be deemed to accept your new User Agreement with Coinbase Canada unless you close your Coinbase account ahead of that date.
When you first sign in to your account after the migration, you will need to indicate your acceptance of the new User Agreement when prompted.
Verify your identity
At this stage, we do not need to gather additional information from you to comply with Canadian-specific Identity Verification requirements. You will, however, be soon asked for some additional information about your risk profile, financial situation and trading experience - asking these questions is a regulatory requirement, and we will be in touch at the time to explain more.
New User Agreement
After 22 February 2023, you can only access your account once you've indicated your acceptance of the new User Agreement.
