Sending funds in Coinbase Wallet
To safeguard against sending funds to an incorrect address, we suggest asking the receiver for their unique QR code.To send crypto or digital assets from your Coinbase Wallet:
Open the Coinbase Wallet mobile app.
Tap Send.
Enter the amount you'd like to send and select the asset you'd like to use.
Tap Next.
Tap the QR code or enter the exact recipient address.
Note: You can send supported crypto and tokens using a cryptocurrency address, Coinbase Wallet username, or ENS (Ethereum Name Service for ETH/ERC-20).Additionally, sending funds from Coinbase Wallet takes place on the blockchain and is subject to standard network fees.
If you’re sending an ERC-20 token (eg. USDC, DAI, BAT, MKR, etc.), you will need ETH in your Wallet in order to pay a miner’s fee when sending this cryptocurrency.
This is because ERC-20 tokens are issued on the Ethereum blockchain and transactions on the Ethereum network, such as sending ERC-20 tokens, require Ether.
If you've linked your Coinbase and Coinbase Wallet accounts, you'll see "Coinbase" listed under "Suggested" when sending. Selecting this option will result in funds being sent to your linked Coinbase.com account. Visit How to link my Coinbase Wallet to my Coinbase.com account to learn more.
