Billing (Invoices) on Coinbase Prime

As a Coinbase Prime User, you will receive an invoice at the start of each month for your Custody / Vault transactions.  You will be notified about any outstanding invoices via email and on the Prime platform itself. Invoices can also be managed directly on the Prime platform.

Accessing your invoice

Monthly invoices can be pulled directly from the Prime Platform by account users. You can take the following steps to access your invoice:

  1. Sign into your Coinbase Prime account.

  2. Select Settings from the left-hand menu and choose Billing

  3. View your total balance due at the top of the page

  4. Under Invoices, locate the specific invoice you need and select Download

Should you want to see a more detailed breakdown of the fees for your account, select See your Prime Fees at the top of the page.

Paying your invoice

Invoices are issued on a monthly basis and should be paid according to the terms outlined in your Prime Broker Agreement. You have two options for how to pay invoices

  • Automatic Billing: Your Custody invoice will automatically be debited from either your selected trading wallet or vault wallet. If using a trading wallet, the deduction will be made on the invoice's due date, adhering to the net-payment terms detailed in your PBA agreement (typically 15 days after an invoice is issued monthly). For vault wallets, the deduction takes place on the tenth business day of each month. It's designed to save you time, avoid the hassle of manual payments, and eliminate wire transfer fees. You have the flexibility to make payments in USD or crypto. For crypto payments, USDC stands out as the optimal choice.

  • Wire Transfer: send a one-time wire payment from your bank

To enable Automatic Billing for your monthly Custody invoice:

  • Sign into your Coinbase Prime account.

  • Select Settings from the left-hand menu and choose Billing

  • View your Total Balance Due at the top of the page

  • Select Pay Balance Due

  • Under Billing Configuration, click Enable to set up Automatic Billing

  • Designate the asset, portfolio and Trading or Vault wallet you will pay with each month. Ensure you have enough funds to cover the payment. Acknowledge the Terms of Service and click Continue.

  • Verify with your Yubikey and approve with consensus.

  • Once approved, a one time payment will be initiated to pay your current balance. In the future, your monthly invoice payment will be deducted from this wallet automatically.

To send a one time payment using a wire transfer:

  1. Sign into your Coinbase Prime account.

  2. Select Settings from the left-hand menu and choose Billing.

  3. View your total balance due at the top of the page.

  4. Select Pay Balance Due.

  5. Choose Send Wire Transfer.

  6. Copy the Coinbase payment details and initiate a wire transfer through your bank.

Managing your Invoice Recipients

  2. Select Settings from the left-hand menu and choose Billing.
