Direct Deposit under Add Funds is rolling out in the United States. Coinbase Wallet may still show Receive USD under Transfer. Follow the steps for the option that appears.
Direct deposit gives eligible customers account and routing numbers that can receive US dollars. Deposits arrive in Coinbase Wallet as USDC at a rate of 1 to 1.
Open Coinbase Wallet. If Direct Deposit appears under Add Funds, use those steps. If Receive USD appears under Transfer, use the Receive USD steps.
Direct deposit in Coinbase Wallet
Direct Deposit under Add Funds is available to eligible customers in the United States. Open Coinbase Wallet and select Add Funds. If Direct Deposit does not appear, it is not available for the wallet that is selected.
To set up Direct Deposit on mobile:
Open Coinbase Wallet and select Add Funds.
Select Direct Deposit.
Enter the personal and contact information requested.
Complete the identity verification steps.
Review the details, complete the certification, and give consent.
Coinbase Wallet shows Verifying Your Details while verification is in progress. Verification can take up to 24 hours. Account and routing numbers appear once the account is ready. If setup does not complete, Coinbase Wallet shows Account Creation Failed. Contact Coinbase Support.
To find and share account details on mobile:
Open Coinbase Wallet and select Add Funds.
Select Direct Deposit.
Select Copy next to a value, or select Share to send the details.
Share these details only with the bank or payroll provider sending the deposit. Coinbase Support will not ask for the full account and routing numbers in chat or on a call.
Deposits typically arrive within 1 to 3 business days. US dollars convert to USDC at a rate of 1 to 1 when the deposit arrives, and the deposit appears in Coinbase Wallet as a received USDC transaction. Your payroll provider may charge fees separately.
If a deposit has not arrived after three business days, confirm that the sender used the correct account and routing numbers. If it still has not arrived, contact Coinbase Support with the amount, the date it was sent, and the sender's name.
