Direct deposit allows eligible customers to transfer a portion or the entirety of their paycheck to their Coinbase Wallet by generating a USD receive account with account and routing numbers. Provide these details to your employer for direct deposit or link the account to your bank to transfer funds. Incoming USD payments are automatically converted to USDC 1:1 in your Coinbase Wallet by our partner, Bridge.
You need to complete verification through Bridge to receive your direct deposit details.
Set up and use direct deposit
Select Transfer, then Receive to open up the different receiving options.
Select Receive USD.
Follow the instructions to verify your identity through Bridge.
Once verification is complete, you'll see your direct deposit details (account and routing numbers).
Select the Receive USD option to view the account details again anytime.
Provide these details to your employer or payroll provider (for example, ADP, Deel, Gusto).
You'll receive your USDC as soon as Bridge receives the USD funds from your employer or payroll provider.
Note: In the US, setting up or changing direct deposit can take 2-3 pay periods before going into effect.
Other notes
USDC is sent to your Coinbase Wallet on the Base network at a 1:1 conversion rate (for example, 100 USD = 100 USDC).
Coinbase does not charge a fee for this conversion, but your bank or payroll provider may.
Deposit status can be viewed in your transaction history.
If we can't process your transfer, the funds will be returned to your employer or payroll provider.
Transactions under the minimum amount of $1 will not be processed.
