Overview
Multiple source wallets let you pay stakeholders from per-stakeholder Safe wallets instead of paying every stakeholder from your company’s default Safe. This article explains how an administrator configures grants that pay from multiple source Safe wallets in Coinbase Token Manager.
Multiple source wallets are useful when:
Different investors, contributors, or cohorts hold tokens in dedicated Safe wallets.
Your legal or accounting structure requires payouts to a stakeholder to come from a specific Safe.
You want to batch transfers through Coinbase Token Manager instead of executing them one by one in Safe.
This article assumes your Safe custody account is connected to Coinbase Token Manager. If you haven’t set it up yet, complete the Gnosis/Safe Custody Account Onboarding Guide first.
Before you begin
Your Safe custody account is connected to Coinbase Token Manager.
The source Safes are deployed, and you know their wallet addresses.
The signer address you own on each source Safe is set up in Coinbase Token Manager with at least Admin permissions — source-wallet setup will be blocked otherwise.
Each stakeholder’s destination wallet address has been added to the Coinbase Token Manager account and is correct.
You have obtained the Coinbase Token Manager proposer address for your company from your onboarding contact or tm-support@coinbase.com.
How source wallet routing works
For every token grant, Coinbase Token Manager uses one of two possible sources for the payout:
Grant-level source wallet — a Safe registered on the stakeholder profile and selected when the token grant is created.
Company escrow — the default company Safe used when no stakeholder-specific source Safe is selected.
Both types appear on the Payouts page. Review the Source column to confirm where each payout will route from.
Step 1 — Register Coinbase Token Manager as a proposer
Obtain your company’s Coinbase Token Manager proposer address from your onboarding contact or tm-support@coinbase.com.
Open each source Safe as an owner.
Add the Coinbase Token Manager address as a proposer or delegate.
Repeat for every Safe you plan to use as a source wallet.
Coinbase Token Manager checks proposer status during setup and again at payout time. A setup warning may let you continue, but payouts are blocked until Coinbase Token Manager is registered as a proposer on the selected Safe.
Step 2 — Add source Safes to the stakeholder profile
Go to the Stakeholders page in Coinbase Token Manager.
Edit the stakeholder profile or create a new stakeholder.
In Source wallets, select Add source wallet.
Enter a label and the Safe wallet address.
Coinbase Token Manager validates the address format and confirms that the address is a deployed Safe.
Repeat for any additional source Safes, then save the stakeholder profile.
Step 3 — Assign a source wallet during grant creation
Go to the Token grants page and create a token grant for the stakeholder.
Open the Source wallet dropdown.
Select one of the source Safes registered on the stakeholder profile.
Leave the field on the default company escrow if the payout should use the company Safe.
Complete the remaining token grant details and save.
Important: The source wallet is recorded when the token grant is created and can’t be edited afterward. Contact tm-support@coinbase.com before changing the funding source of an existing active token grant.
Step 4 — Verify the payout source
Go to the Payouts page.
Review the Source column for each token grant with a source wallet.
Confirm the Safe label and address match the intended funding source.
If the company escrow appears unexpectedly, verify the source wallet selection on the token grant before submitting the payout. If the grant was created without a source wallet, the company escrow is the expected source.
