Add and verify a payment method - North America | LATAM

For your security, the name on your payment method must match the name on your Coinbase account. Mismatched names will be reviewed manually in one to three business days.

Verify your Coinbase account before adding a payment method.

To add a new payment method:

Sign in to Coinbase and select your profile icon.
Choose Settings then navigate to Payment methods.
Select Add a payment method.
Choose your preferred payment method.
Complete the prompts to verify your payment method.

Types of payment method verification

Instant verification: Verifies through Plaid, Stripe, or the payment method's online banking portal.
Manual verification: Check digit verification (CDV) verifies through small test transfers to your bank account.
Deposit verification: Verifies with a successful deposit into your Coinbase account from your payment method.
