Celsius Distribution

To receive a Celsius distribution through Coinbase, your Celsius account information must match your Coinbase account information exactly.

Coinbase distributes crypto only as instructed by Celsius.

Retail creditors with Coinbase accounts

If you’re receiving a distribution to a Coinbase retail account, make sure your:

  • Personal information is accurate.

  • Identity verification is complete.

  • Account is active and able to receive crypto.

Accurate personal information

The following information must match exactly in both your Celsius and Coinbase accounts:

  • Email address

  • Legal name

  • Residential address

  • Date of birth (as shown on your government-issued ID)

If any information is incorrect or outdated on your Coinbase account, update your profile. You may need to complete identity verification again.

Identity verification

You may be prompted to complete identity verification when signing into your account.

Please see our Verify your identity on Coinbase Help Center article for more information.

Receive crypto

To confirm if your Coinbase account is able to receive crypto:

  1. Select Receive crypto from your dashboard.

  2. Select any asset, then any network.

  3. Confirm a QR code + address appears with no error message. Follow any on-screen instructions to resolve the error.

    • If you’re unable to resolve the error, use the Need More Help? section in this article or start a chat from the homepage.

If you’re located in a region Coinbase does not support, or you’re otherwise ineligible to receive a distribution, Celsius will contact you directly.

For questions about your claim, distribution status, or eligibility, please contact the Celsius Distribution team.

Distribution failures

A distribution may fail for reasons such as:

  • Account inactivity: Accounts that haven’t been accessed for six months or more may become inactive. Sign in to reactivate your account.

  • Unaccepted user agreements: You must accept the latest Coinbase Terms of Service and User Agreements. Review and accept any required updates when prompted.

  • Incomplete identity verification: Your Coinbase account must be verified to receive crypto.

  • Personal information mismatch: Your email address, legal name, date of birth, and residential address on your Coinbase account must match the information on file with Celsius.

Resolve a failed distribution

To address a failed distribution:

  1. Sign in to your Coinbase account.

  2. Accept any pending Terms of Service or User Agreement updates.

  3. Complete identity verification if prompted.

  4. Review your personal information and confirm it matches your Celsius account exactly.

After completing these steps, allow time for Celsius to reprocess the distribution.

Coinbase cannot modify claim details, distribution amounts, or payment schedules. For questions about timing, claim amounts, or distribution status, please contact the Celsius Distribution team.

Institutional and corporate creditors

Only Celsius creditors with fully identity-verified Coinbase institutional accounts (Coinbase Prime, Coinbase Prime Custody, or Coinbase Exchange) will receive distributions for crypto claims.

Coinbase will not:

  • Open new institutional accounts for the purpose of distribution.

  • Reopen closed institutional accounts.

  • Distribute institutional claims to retail accounts.

Coinbase distributes crypto strictly according to instructions provided by Celsius.
