Verifying a Bank Account
To verify a bank account, you must initiate a deposit to Coinbase Exchange from your bank. You cannot verify a bank account within the Coinbase Exchange platform. Once the funds reach Coinbase, the banking information will appear in the banking tab confirming verification.
Depositing with Fedwire
To deposit via Fedwire:
Login to your account at exchange.coinbase.com
Navigate to the Portfolios tab on the left side bar
Select a Portfolio
Select ‘Deposit’ on the right hand side of the screen and then select ‘USD’
Choose ‘US Fedwire Transfer’
Press Continue
Use the Banking Instructions provided on your screen to make a deposit into your Coinbase Exchange account
Important information for timely deposits
The name on your bank account must match the name on your Coinbase account or your deposit will be subject to delays.
Some banking partners require a Reference Number when initiating a deposit from your bank. The Wire Instructions will include your Reference Number if applicable. Failure to add the Reference Number may result in delays receiving your deposit to Coinbase Exchange.
Fees
There is a $10 deposit fee for Fedwire.
Timing
Your funds will typically appear in 1 business day after you’ve initiated the deposit from your bank account.
If funds are not received after 3 business days or you are having trouble verifying your account, please contact Coinbase Exchange support.
