The First trade Bonus is a limited-time campaign that rewards eligible Base App customers for making their first qualifying swap. Customers who make a qualifying swap of $100 or more may earn up to $25 USDC after meeting a 30-day balance requirement.
Eligibility
The First trade Bonus is available to select Base App customers who have not previously made a trade on Base App and have been referred by another Base App customer.
One bonus per customer.
If your bonus is forfeited, you may re-qualify with a new qualifying swap.
Tiers and rewards
The bonus amount depends on the amount of your first qualifying swap:

If your first qualifying swap meets the requirements for both tiers, for example, a swap of $300, you receive the higher tier reward automatically.
Your bonus is paid to your Base App wallet in USDC after you complete the 30-day balance requirement.
The 30-day balance requirement
After you complete a qualifying swap, a 30-day balance period begins. To receive your bonus, your total on-platform portfolio value must stay at or above the threshold for your tier every day for 30 days:
$10 bonus: maintain a total portfolio value of $75 or more
$25 bonus: maintain a total portfolio value of $187.50 or more
During this period, you can trade, swap, and withdraw freely. Only your total portfolio value is checked, not any specific position or asset.
Your balance is checked once per day. The threshold is set at 75% of your qualifying swap amount to account for normal market volatility. If the value of the assets you hold drops moderately, you may still meet the requirement.
Forfeiture and re-qualification
If your total portfolio value falls below the required threshold in any single daily check, your bonus is forfeited and cannot be reinstated for that qualifying swap.
If your bonus is forfeited and the campaign has not expired, you may re-qualify by completing a new qualifying swap of $100 or more. The 30-day balance period restarts from the date of your new qualifying swap.
Tracking your bonus
After completing a qualifying swap, you can track your bonus progress in the Bonus Hub.
To track your bonus progress:
Access the Coinbase Base App.
Select the [gift] icon at the top of the homepage.
Select the First trade Bonus option to see your bonus status of Active, Completed, or Forfeited.
In the Bonus Hub, you can also see your current portfolio balance versus the required threshold and the number of days remaining in the 30-day period.
